Brian had this awesome solo tape of him and a few songs he'd written after back surgery and being loaded up on a bunch of pain meds. MSSI was the best song on that tape. Just Brian and some floor toms and vocals. It was amazing, we eventually took it and wrote this version. (Kevin)

Spy 02:56
Such an amazing bass line! Brian showed up to a practice with just that snippet and then he wrote everything else around it. (Kevin)

Remember 03:33
This was the song I wanted on the album least from the sessions. I've never liked this song at all. (Kevin)

Morals 04:42
This reflects dark times in Grand Rapids, honestly the album as a whole does. I've always had a hard time telling if we were writing more about ourselves as a band or as ourselves as a city. This was the first song that we really started stretching out the length with, it started feeling like every time i'd write another song it'd just get longer and longer. (Kevin)

Leveling 02:40
9.
This song was the first time I had started toying with the idea of quitting North Lincoln and trying to justify all of our accomplishments with myself. (Kevin)
10.
I actually wrote the music for this song for another band I had been doing called The Hartford Whalers, I think we jammed on it once and everyone complained how slow it was. I've always wished the horns were just a little louder on this. (Kevin)

Siblings 03:25
I wrote this whole song in about a five minute span after listening to "Everlong" like ten times in a row. It was good, but when John added all the drum rolls it transformed it completely. He really turned this song from good to amazing. It was instantly the best song on the album. (Kevin)
